As a foreigner traveling from the USA to Costa Rica, I was impressed with the airport staff's level of customer service; offering to carry bags and politely directing traffic. Additionally, how quickly you go through checkpoints. I believe their weigh scales are off, making bags appear heavier than they are. The airport offers many shops and places to eat and drink, with very hospitable staff. Unfortunately, seating space is minimal and the airport overall is small. My husband dropped his boarding pass and someone kindly returned it to the help desk. It was also cool to walk outside to board the plane.
Easy access in and out. Literally to your gate in 5 minutes. The restaurants are expensive to eat at so are snacks and bottled water. Take a empty water bottle and fill it up at the water fountain.
Ticketing agents misspelled my name and I was told by the customs agent to go back and fix it, only to be told by the ticketing agents to go back to customs again... as if a glaring error of my last name shouldn't be a problem a second time...I was able to get through after two agents had a conversation. The whole process took way too long because the airport still works with what seems to be a laggy input system using Windows Vista...please update your systems so that they can properly accommodate for human error. At least one star for clean washroom facilities.
Worst airport I've ever been too. Over charge on everything and then rips you off on exchange rates. This airport is a ripofff in everyway avoid at all costs possible.
Flew in from the US and had zero problems. very clean and nice. the restaurants by the gates were surprisingly nice. sports on TV, water fountain, coffee shop café it was a breeze. policia comes by with a german shepherd dog to sniff everyone but didn't see him pull anyone aside or anything like other people reviews say.
